Is aubergine allowed on the Tayyibat diet?

Caution

Caution. It sits between yes and no: try it carefully, and stop if bloating comes back. This is his own ruling.

Why the answer on aubergine is not simple

It's a nightshade. Its seeds and skin carry natural chemicals called alkaloids. That's why bell peppers and raw tomato are out, and tomato only comes back peeled, seeded and cooked.

The detail

Solanine-family alkaloids, concentrated in seeds and skin. Bell peppers and raw tomato are excluded; peeled, seeded, cooked tomato is the rare exception.
